Hormetal Uruguay Celebrates 15 Years of Excellence

Hormetal Uruguay, a construction firm specializing in turnkey industrial projects, is celebrating 15 years of continuous operations in the country this month at its facility located in Canelones, on Route 8.

Since arriving in Uruguay in 2010, the company has played a pivotal role in transforming the industrial and logistics sectors by providing innovative construction solutions to both domestic and international firms. To date, the company has built over 5.4 million square feet (500,000 m²) across more than 70 projects and currently maintains a direct workforce of over 100 employees.

“Celebrating 15 years in the Uruguayan market has established us as industry leaders. The key lies in our ability to adapt to the needs of a market that increasingly values efficiency, trust, and quality in infrastructure projects,” said Mauricio Bergeret, General Manager of Hormetal Uruguay. He added, “A major advantage we hold is owning our own steel fabrication plants. This allows us, for instance, to source structures from our new industrial facility in Paraguay, ensuring more competitive pricing for our clients.”

Bergeret also highlighted that last year, Hormetal Uruguay integrated state-of-the-art machinery and transitioned its fleet to electric vehicles, aligning with its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable development. These strategic moves contributed to 2024 being the company’s highest-grossing year since entering the country.

Furthermore, a major regional milestone for Hormetal was the recent commissioning of the Hormetal Paraguay industrial plant. This ensures the operation can source steel structures that meet international standards at more competitive prices, consolidating its regional presence and expanding its operational capacity within the Uruguayan market. This integration not only optimizes costs and processes but also strategically positions the company to offer an even more compelling value proposition.
